    Kitchen Layout Tips

The layout of your kitchen should be designed to be as spacious as possible. There should be easy access between the principal activity zones of the kitchen, namely the sink, the fridge, and the cooker.

At the planning stage, you will need to identify all of your kitchen layout requirements. These will vary depending on the size of the kitchen, the shape of the room, and how the kitchen is to be used.

Designers recognize that there are three main work areas in any kitchen.

    1. Cleaning area
    2. Food Preparation Area
    3. Eating Area

In order to work efficiently in a kitchen, it is important to be able to get from one area of the kitchen to another as conveniently as possible. When these areas are positioned properly, they form a triangle, which is commonly known as the kitchen work triangle.

Ideally, you should keep the distance between the different areas as short as possible, and ensure that there are no obstructions between areas.

There are several layout options to choose from for your kitchen:

    1. Single Line Layout
    2. Galley
    3. L-Shaped Kitchen
    4. U-Shaped Kitchen
    5. Island Kitchen
