    Choosing the right kitchen cabinets

If your kitchen is looking a little run down, or you have just moved into a new house, you may want to consider fitting new kitchen cabinets to give your kitchen a new look with your own personal touches. Let's have a look at what you need to look for when choosing new cabinets for your kitchen.

First, you will need to determine the distribution of the kitchen cabinets according to the space available. The size of the room will influence where you place cabinets regardless of the kitchen layout you choose.

One of the most common ways to position kitchen appliances around cabinets is: refrigerator, space, oven, space, kitchen sink with dishwasher. This configuration does not leave space for additional appliances such as a washing machine. It does, however, keep the heat away from the oven away from the fridge.

Before you get in touch with a kitchen remodelling specialist or a DIY supply store, there are several points you will need to address:

    • What kind of material do you want to use for your kitchen cabinets?
    • What kind of hinges, handles, and drawers do you want on the cabinets?
    • Will the choice of materials and fittings complement your existing or future sink?
    • Do you want custom or stock cabinets?
    • What is your budget for the project?
