Feng Shui for the Bathroom
To give the illusion of space as well as speeding up the lagging flow of Qi in the bathroom, use mirrors! Be as creative as you want and decorate this area with big and small mirrors. But, remember to not place mirrors where they reflect each other. This connotes to good Qi being 'trapped' in between, and is not a good thing.
You know that a Qi cleansing ritual is just the thing to banish stagnant, stale
Qi in order to create a fresh, conducive environment. Guess what - you can do
this is the bathroom, too! Burning some sandalwood incense and making some soothing
music with the singing bowl will refresh the atmosphere and banish the bad Qi
that might linger around. So the next time, remember to purify your bathroom
along with other areas of your home!
Here are some helpful feng Shui no-nos for the bathroom: refrain from putting family pictures of frames and keep the bathroom door as well as toilet lid closed at all times. This keeps the negative Qi away.
Fresh air and sunlight are the best cure for moldy, stale Qi in the bathroom. If you have windows, do open them daily and allow in as much sunlight as possible. If you don't have any windows in your bathroom, bright lighting is the next best thing. Other than a good light bulb, faceted crystals are also a great choice to disperse negative Qi or Sha away.
If your bathroom is location in the North or South, hang a mirror outside of the bathroom door. For this year, 2005, these locations are the best wealth sectors of the year. A mirror will lessen the 'draining' effects of the bathroom may wreak on your wealth potential.
As a rule of thumb, decorations should be kept at a minimum in the bathroom. But, a beautiful brass wu lou or two will be a great and welcome addition! The wu lou, or gourd, is a potent symbol of good health and longevity. Place one or two of these auspicious items in your bathroom, away from water sources.
Candles and green leafy plants are also a great addition for the bathroom! Candles are cheerful and will brighten up as well as soften the interior of the bathroom, and plants absorb moisture as well as minimize the effects of stagnant Qi. These two will balance the Qi in your bathroom as well as make your toilet visits more pleasant!
